Surprise AZ is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona with a total population of about 100,000. Surprise is known for its golf courses and resorts.
Surprise AZ has many places to go and see: three casinos and two major shopping centers, one indoor called Bell Road and the other outdoor called Sun City Grand.
Surprise AZ is also very close to Peoria which has an Aquatic Center that often hosts many events such as swim meets or conferences like ASCA (Arizona Swimming Coaches Association), but also hosts various community aquatic functions such as family fun nights.
Peoria Sports Complex hosts spring training for Minor League Baseball teams Cincinnati Reds and Seattle Mariners, who share the same facility/complex together with the Arizona Diamondbacks (Cactus League) during February and March.
Surprise AZ events include the Surprise Tennis Challenger (ITF Women’s Circuit, $50k event), Arizona International (first week in April; WTA/ATP tourneys with pro players coming from all over the world), Spring Training baseball games, various other Cactus League games played by nearby teams such as the Royals, Rangers, Athletics, Rockies etc., Surprise Saguaros Baseball Home Games for the Golden Baseball League located at the Surprise Stadium.
Parks in Surprise AZ are very nice too: take your pick between Twelve Oaks Sports Complex or Umberger Park & Aquatic Center. Both offer sporting facilities to promote physical fitness and sports participation.
